Valorie is survived by her sister, Gerry Samoranski; her brother, Robert Paris; her sons, Joseph (the late Sheree) Piscopo, James (Donna) Piscopo, Robert (Martha) Piscopo, Paul (Jeannie) Piscopo; and her daughter, Julie (Steven) Timson. She was a loving grandmother to Beth, Dominic, Mathew, Lisa, Michael, Tony, Mark, and Katie, as well as a proud great-grandmother of Julian, Lilly, Rosie, Jane, and Benjamin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Piscopo Jr.; her parents, Lillian and Leonard Paris; and her siblings, Barbara Bolus and Leonard Paris.
Valorie was known for her bubbly and loving personality. She had a great sense of humor and is remembered for her empathy and care, as well as her generosity. She enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren her recipes for cakes and cookies (as well as chasing them out of the kitchen while baking) as well as how to catch and filet a fish (the grandkids that know, will know!). She was a champion at bingo and did her little dance while winning, and made sure to take her loved ones on camping trips every year when they were kids. She volunteered at churches and schools and was truly dedicated to making people in her life feel cared about.
She was an avid baker, seamstress, fisher, singer, bingo player, gardener, and above all, a lover of cardinals. Family gatherings and time with loved ones were the cornerstone of her life.
She is deeply loved and fondly remembered by her family and will be forever missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
A visitation will be held at the Elton Black and Son Highland Chapel, 3295 East Highland Rd., on October 19th from 10:30am until 1:30pm. The rosary will begin at 1:30pm followed by a sharing of memories to honor her memory.
