Frieda Luella Cooper

Frieda Luella Cooper, Napoleon (formerly of Holgate), Ohio passed away at Country View Haven, Napoleon, Wednesday, September 12, 2012. She was born June 2, 1924 in Gallup in Henry County, to the late George and Blanche (Searfoss) Thomas. She married Donald "Jake" Cooper in 1943 in Pennsylvania who preceded her in death in 2001.

Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Russ, Walter, and Ernest Thomas and six sisters, Lily Thomas, Mary Radabaugh, Betty Foster, Thelma Hunsacker, Evelyn Warniment and Velma Richenbach.

After a 31 year career as a homemaker and mother of five, she started a new career by going to work at the Murphy Store in Napoleon. She also worked at the Hunts Company in Leipsic, OH and retired from Tem-Cole Radish Plant in McClure, Oh. Family members referred to her as the "Radish Queen" because of the many awards and bonuses she had received while working there. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Holgate. She enjoyed playing the lottery, working in her yard, and doing word search puzzles.

Surviving are three sons: Donald, Jr. (Susan) of Maybe, TN, Kenneth (Diane) of Edgewood, KY and Michael (Dorothy) of Custar, OH; two daughters: Brenda (Kenny) Rosebrook of Defiance, and Bonnie (Dennis) Edgar of Napoleon; 8 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Brother: Lloyd Thomas of Continental, OH and two sisters: Eva Ronci of Youngstown, OH and Flossie Nichols of Lima, OH.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, September 16, 2012 in the Snyder Funeral Home 209 N Wilhelm St., Holgate, Ohio (419) 264-3104 and on Monday September 17, 2012 from 10-11 AM at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 710 Joe E. Brown Avenue, Holgate where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Tamara Woods officiating. Burial to follow at Pleasant Township Cemetery, Ridge Road, New Bavaria. Memorial Contributions maybe be made to the Henry County Home Health and Hospice, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the donor's choice through the funeral home.
