

Born to the late Frank and Katherine (Leaders) Desgranges on June 18, 1916 in Pleasant Bend. On October 16, 1935 she married Joseph B. Thome and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1997.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Bavaria, and a Life Member of the Rosary Altar Society at the church. She was also a life member of the Leipsic Eagles, and retired from the Campbell Soup Company after 20 years of service.
Mary is survived by a son, Frank (Marilyn) Thome of New Bavaria; daughters, Patricia Brickner of Ottawa, Barb (John) Perry of Columbus Grove, Connie Schaffer-Thome of Reno, Nevada; sisters, Anna Schwab of Napoleon and Lois Rau of Defiance; daughter in-law, Carol Thome of New Bavaria; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 10 step great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and 1 step great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Thome, a daughter, Mary C. Thome, sisters, Nettie Forney and Madeline Desgranges, son in-laws Louis Brickner and Stephen Shaffer, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren
Friends will be received on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at the Snyder Funeral Home in Holgate, with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30A.M. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria, with Father Stephen Stanbery, officiating. Burial follows in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
