

Amy Beth VanderSlik, 27, deeply loved daughter, sister, granddaughter and aunt, passed away on April 16, 2020. She is survived by her parents, Ron and Jacki VanderSlik, brother Jonathan (Keija) VanderSlik, sister Erin (Tyler) Helmus, grandparents Glenn and Barbara Meyaard, nephew and nieces, Josiah, Eva, and Eliana VanderSlik and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Born in Holland, Michigan, she graduated from Black River Public School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Cornerstone University. During her career, she was employed by MOKA, Ottawa Area Center, and Network 180. She had a heart for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.
She loved being outdoors enjoying God’s creation, hiking and camping up north, going to the beach, and basking in the sun. She was always laughing and was a favorite target for tickle attacks by her nephew and nieces who adored her. Spending time with family was a priority in her life; she was always up for family vacations and Sunday dinners.
Interment at Pilgrim Home cemetery will be Friday, April 24, 2020 with immediate family present. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
