Arlene Betty Huxhold

Arlene was born July 11, 1937, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was married 53 years to the love of her life, Dennis Huxhold, who passed away in 2014. In 2017, Arlene suffered a stroke and moved to Pine Ridge Assisted Living. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, where she previously served on several committees. Arlene loved gardening, dancing, boating, camping, and traveling, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Most recently, she looked forward to her monthly trips to Fricano’s pizza with her four children; weekend visits to their homes for sleepovers, makeovers, singing and dancing; and making happy memories with her caregivers, Ashley and Broc Westerhof.

She is survived by her Children, Bill (Kim) Huxhold, Sandy (Steve) Brunmeier, Deb (Mike) Bareman, and Teresa (Cheryl Stacy) Huxhold; Grandchildren, Ashley (Tom) Manes, Jordan Huxhold, Amber (Ken) Kindle, Zach (Brittany) Brunmeier, Casey Bareman and Taylor (Corey) Vork; Great Grandchildren, Kane, Mikaela, Avery and Coleson; Brother Dave (Mary Jo) Scharlau; In-Laws, Kathy Scharlau and Jacqueline (Dick) Sytsma. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Special thanks to Hospice of Holland for all the much-needed support during this time. An extra special thanks to Broc and Ashley Westerhof from Pine Ridge Assisted Living, for their loving care they provided our mother throughout the past few years and going above and beyond for our family. Thank you also to all the residents at Pine Ridge who loved Mom and cared for her like family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday October 28, 2023, at 11:00 am at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 3151 N. 120th Avenue. Officiating will be Pastor Russell Johnson. The burial will be at North Holland Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, October 27, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, Holland, MI 49424.
