Ben was a veteran of the Army, where he served his country after graduating from Holland High School. Following his service, he worked at Reliable Cycle, and then at Holland Hitch as a foreman, where he retired. Ben was a member of Harlem Reformed Church, where he served as a Deacon.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 11:30am at Harlem Reformed Church, 6854 144th Avenue in Holland. Rev. John Nyitray will be officiating. Burial will be at Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 6:00-8:00pm at Harlem Reformed Church. Memorial contributions may be made to The Harlem Reformed Church Scholarship Fund, 6854 144th Avenue, Holland, MI 49424.
