Beverly Wood

Beverly Ann (Blackmer) Wood passed peacefully on March 15, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born August 14, 1938 in Cadillac Michigan and married her “middle” school sweetheart, Donald Wood on May 25, 1958. She was preceded in death by her husband Don, brother Mike, sister Nancy and a great grandson. She is survived by her brother Ralph (Mary) Blackmer and children Pam Titus, Gayle DeJong, Misty (Jon) Galant and Guy (Sandra) Wood; Grandchildren Melissa (Scott) Repp, Joshua (Cristi) Anderson, Nicole (Kristina) Haring, Alicia (Bucky) Anderson, Rob (Shana) DeJong, Krista (Mike) VerHey, Katie Galant, Allie Galant; and 10 great grandchildren.

Bev was a stay at home mom for her four children. Later in life she worked for Hallmark, as a school bus driver and then as a dial-a-ride driver with the greatest of friends. Don and Bev returned to Cadillac in retirement, spending many years back on Lake Mitchell. Their yard was full of flowers and you could find her out there each day pampering them.

Visitation will occur Saturday, March 21, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in the youth building at Vriesland Reformed Church, 6839 Byron Road, Zeeland, MI 49464 immediately followed by a short, casual service. The family invites you to join them where food will be served and memories will be shared. Any donations in honor of Bev can be made to Hospice of Holland.
