David Alan Hoekstra, 57, was called to his Heavenly home on Saturday, December 15, 2018. He is survived by his children: Nichole & Dave Shear, Mitchell Hoekstra, and Heather Hoekstra; grandchildren: Deacon and Ellerie Shear; brothers: Garry and Becky Hoekstra, Bob and Diane Hoekstra, Ken and Sue Hoekstra. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Jane Hoekstra.
Dave was a member of North Holland Reformed Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher and was very active with church missions. He always had a strong servant’s heart and welcomed everyone with open arms and a papa father grin and comment. He had a zest for the outdoors including family adventures to Silver Lake Sand Dunes, camping, fishing, hunting, and whatever fun shenanigans could be found. He was often working/playing at Bob’s Barn and helping others with various projects.
Visitation will be from 3-7 pm, Friday, December 21, 2018 at North Holland Reformed Church, 12050 New Holland Street. A memorial service will be at 11 am, Saturday, December 22, 2018 at North Holland Reformed Church with Reverend Steven DeVries officiating.
