Diana Mae Gephart

From an early age, Diana’s sense of purpose was clear: she knew in the seventh grade that she wanted to become a hairdresser. After high school, she pursued that calling through trade school in cosmetology, beginning a life shaped by steady dedication, skill, and care for others.

For years, Diana owned and operated Modernette Beauty Shop in Detroit, where her work reflected both professionalism and a gift for helping people feel seen and valued. In 1966 she met Dave, and in 1967 they married and moved to Holland, Michigan, where she continued to build a life rooted in community and connection.

Diana was consistently active in the community, participating in the Newcomers Club, golf leagues, and bowling leagues, and she seemed to find joy in nearly any sport that brought people together. She also had a green thumb and took special delight in her houseplants. She loved to travel and to spend time at the cottage with friends. Simple pleasures made rich by companionship. In more recent years, she especially adored her Evergreen Commons community, where she played and taught cards, sharing both her time and her warmth. Throughout her life, Diana had a knack for making everyone feel special.

Diana is survived by her daughter, Susan (Jeff) Rozema; grandchildren, Lily, Addison, and Foster Rozema; sister, Betty Kalasz; and nephew, Kevin Kalasz.

Diana was preceded in death by her husband, David Gephart; sister, Norma (Rod) Rosher; brother-in-law, Mike Kalasz; and niece, Michelle Brussow.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland, Michigan 49424, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
