

Donna was known for her love of crocheting, knitting, and reading. She had the biggest smile that brightened the lives of those around her. Her dedication was evident in her 20 years and 27 days of service at Meijer. At the nursing home, she was always attentive, checking on everyone with genuine care.
Family was at the heart of Donna's life, and she absolutely loved her children and grandchildren. The family cottage in Brohman, MI, was a cherished place, serving as the center of family activities. Donna also held the position of one of the former managers at Waverly Shores Village.
Her legacy of love, care, and joy will be remembered by all who knew her.
Donna is survived by: her daughter, Rhonda Benavides; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Nienhuis; grandchildren, Ryan Haverdink, Brittney Benavides, Sean Haverdink, Brouke (Keith) Dandridge, and Kyle Haverdink; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Cailynn Top, Kavon, Melody, Knowledge and Harmony Dandridge; sister, Phyllis (Lynn) Hays; brothers-in-law, Larry Vanslooten and Cal (Judy) Haverdink; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Floyd) Everling, Ruth Driesenga, Carol Haverdink, Sally (Brian) Nelson, and Karen Lawson; and many nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by: her husband, Dale Haverdink; parents, Dick and Christine Olsen, honorary mother, Hermina Olsen; children, Scott Haverdink and Jeffrey Haverdink; sister-in-law, Judy Vanslooten; and brothers-in-law, Ronald Haverdink, David Haverdink, and Richard “Rick” Lawson.
A celebration of Donna’s life for immediate family will be 10am on Saturday January 10, 2026, at Rest Haven Care Center, 280 West 40th St. Holland, MI 49423. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or Rest Haven Care Center.
