

Gerald John Beyer, 95, of Zeeland passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at MediLodge of Holland. He worked for many years at Hart & Cooley where he retired as a tool room supervisor. Gerald was a successful antiques dealer and a very talented woodworker and carpenter. He served in World War II in the U.S. Navy on the seaplane tender USS Hamlin. Gerald and wife Millie attended the First Baptist Church in Zeeland for many years and they enjoyed traveling and playing golf together.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Millie Beyer in 2008. He is survived by his children Doug and Vicki Beyer of Baldwin, Rick and Carla Beyer of Zeeland, Garold Beyer of Cedar Springs, Jon Beyer of St. Ignace and by 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Gerald is also survived by sisters, Evelyn Beyer of Holland and Angeline DeWitt of Holland, by brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Pearl Beyer of Holland and sister-in-law Dorothy Harrison of Zeeland, and also by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services with military honors will be 11:00 AM, Monday, November 21 at Lakeshore Memorial Services 11939 James Street in Holland. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Reverend Robert Terpstra will be officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
