Lupe was born November 26, 1948 to Guadalupe and Victorina (Barrera) Garza Sr. in Sebastian, Texas. He worked for Hart and Cooley for over 40 years until retirement. On November 28, 1980, he married Mary Ellen Rojas in Holland, MI, and they settled in Zeeland. Lupe was an avid hunter, an honorary Diamond King Manager, and a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen; children Rene Garza, Esteban (Laura) Garza, Roxana (Francisco) Gracia, and Rolando (Anna) Garza; grandchildren Abigail (Andrew) Robitaille, Rolando Garza Jr., Aaron Garza, Raven Garza, Taylor Garza, and Sierra Rodriguez great granddaughter Evelyn Robitaille; brother Noe (Sylvia) Garza; sister Yolanda (Juan) Cantu; many extended family and friends.
A service to celebrate Lupe’s life will be at 6pm Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland. (The service will be livestreamed on Lakeshore Memorial’s Facebook page)
Visitation will be from 5-6:00pm prior to the services on Wednesday at Lakeshore Memorial.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation in memory of Lupe.
