

Henry was born on July 2, 1948 in Owosso, MI to Blanche Smith. Henry joined the United States Navy in 1965 where he was stationed on the USS Forrestal. While in the Navy, Henry was able to get his GED. After serving for 4 years, Henry left the Navy. He eventually met the love of his life, Margie Hunley. Henry and Margie got married on June 22, 1978. Together they had 3 sons, Nate, Josh, and Matt. Henry worked as a machinist for most of his life. He loved to do many things, like go on vacation when he wanted to, spending time with his grandkids Sanoe, Aric, and Jacklyn. Henry also enjoyed golfing, work softball teams, and baseball when he was younger. Henry was a big Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan. It was a special time when he got to take his son Nate and grandkids to watch the Tigers play. Henry will be deeply missed my many.
Henry is survived by: his wife, Margie Balma; sons, Nathan Balma and Matthew Balma; grandkids, Sanoe Bueno, Aric Balma, and Jacklyn Balma; Sister, Carolee Noonon; Many other In-laws, and tons of nieces and nephews.
Henry was Preceded in Death by: his mother, Blanche Balma; step-father, Edward Balma; son, Josh Balma; father-in-law, Sherman Hunley; mother-in-law, Lillie Hunley; sister, Peggy Allen; brother, Eddie Balma; brother in-laws, Jerry Hunley, Albert Hunley, Dallas Hunley; and sister in-law, Marie Cupp.
A visitation for Henry will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lakeshore Memorial, 11939 James St, Holland, Michigan 49424, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor Loren Stutzman.
A luncheon will take place at Logan Estates Club House from 3:30-5:30.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Margie Balma.
