James Henry Brooks Sr.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 11 at 1 p.m. at New Community Fourth Reformed Church, 238 W. 15th St., Holland, MI 49423.

Jim was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on April 3, 1940, to Bert and Eliza Brooks Sr. He was one of eleven children. He was much more than just a brother to many of his siblings, he was a close friend.

Jim is an Army veteran, but he didn't boast about it. He worked construction until he was injured. He never let his injury stop him from helping those he loved. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was especially proud of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons and is a loving father to Matt (Stacey) Daniels, Mike (Samantha) Daniels, Jim Jr. (Christine) and Jonathan. Proud grandfather of 17 children. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Eliza Brooks Sr., his sisters Ada and Violet, his brothers Bert Jr. and Jerry, and his loving wife, Mary Jane.
