Janet Mae Smallegan

Janet M. Smallegan, age 83, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 in Allendale. Janet was a member of Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church. She had a passion for serving the Lord, whether it was playing piano, entertaining, volunteering at the Salvation Army, or many other ways she reached out to people. She loved music, cooking, baking, sewing and embroidering, and will be remembered for her sense of humor, right up until the last few days. Janet will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Janet was preceded in death by her husband Russell, and parents John and Henrietta (Meeusen) Katt. She is survived by her brother Gordon (Merele) Katt; children Lori (John) Maxfield, Joy Smallegan, Valerie Smallegan, Kevin (Cherie) Smallegan, Kurtis (Mary) Smallegan; Grandchildren, Jessica, Megan (Gerald), Angela, Amber (Shane), Samantha (Kyle), Derek (Susan), Drew (Sharon), and Craig; Great-Grandchildren, Shelby (Jonah), Shanna, Emmie Jo, Emerson, Liz, Elias, Zoey; many extended family and friends. A private funeral service will take place. Burial will be in Allendale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00pm, Monday, January 30, 2023 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, in Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to Reframe Ministries (Formerly: Back to God Hour).
