
Jeffrey R. Adkins, of Holland, MI, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Holland Community Hospital, from injuries sustained in a car crash on Tuesday. Before his death, Jeff made the generous and selfless decision to save lives by being an organ donor and now Michigan’s Gift of Life program has ensured that his wishes have been fulfilled.
Jeff, a machinist was employed at Extol, Inc. He was born on May 30, 1965, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he attended Homestead High School. Jeff’s family relocated to Holland, Michigan in 1982, where he attended and graduated from West Ottawa High school. As a teenager, Jeff loved and rode horses and dirt bikes. Jeff is preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Scott Adkins of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Jeff is survived by his parents, James K. and Beverly L. Adkins of Auburndale, Florida; beloved children, Kristen Nicole Adkins of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Cameron James Adkins of Holland, Michigan; brother Michael Lynn (Linda) Adkins of Butler, Indiana; sisters, Mona K. Stone of Zeeland, Michigan and Jeanette S. Adkins of Holland, Michigan; several nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends that shared his interest in sports, music concerts, and his love of life.
His absence will forever leave a vast hole in the hearts of his family.
A private memorial service was held Friday, June 10, 2016, at Lakeshore Memorial Services.
Family and friends will celebrate Jeff’s life Saturday June 11, 2016, 3:00-7:00pm, at his sister’s home, 406 N. Calvin Street, Holland.
