Jeff was born May 6,1958 at Holland Hospital to Willie Ruth Jacobs and Howard J. Jacobs, and was one of eight children, third from youngest. He was a resident of Holland Michigan and the surrounding area until 2007, when he relocated to Melbourne, Florida for work. Jeff was a field machinist and traveled around the country for his job, which he enjoyed most days. Jeff was an avid hunter and fisherman and was happiest when he was in the woods, on the water, cooking breakfast for his granddaughters, jammin’ to classic rock, or spending time with family and friends.
Jeff had a charitable soul and was fiercely loyal to his family. Jeff constantly gave of his time and resources to those he loved when they were in need. Jeff knew what it was like to have little. If someone he cared about was struggling, he didn’t think twice about lending a helping hand; from his siblings, to his nieces and nephews, his friends, his ex-wife, and especially to his son and granddaughters.
Jeff loved being a grandpa, and upon retiring in 2019, he moved back to the Holland area to spend time with his granddaughters. His eldest granddaughter, Payton, was the apple of his eye, and he loved to tease her with 7-hour long fishing trips until she started skunking him and his fishing buddy.
Jeff was an NRA supporter and strongly believed in our 2nd amendment rights...he wasn’t a big fan of the federal government.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Willie Ruth Jacobs and Howard J. Jacobs; brothers Jay, Roger, and Henry Jacobs; sisters Martha Blood and Judy Jacobs; nephews John Boersma II and Curtis Jacobs.
Jeff is survived by his son Joshua Henry Jacobs of Holland MI; granddaughters Payton Elizabeth Jacobs, Ezri Ardela Griffin, and Amira Jean Price of Holland MI; sisters Nancy Boersma of Holland MI, and Lori Jacobs of Savannah GA, as well as many close nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and even a few great-great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Lakeshore Memorial Services on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 5:30 PM. A time for visitation and fellowship will be held directly afterward until 7:30 PM.
