Jo Ann Miles

Jo Ann Miles, age 71, of West Olive, MI, passed away peacefully with her husband of 52 years at her side, on Friday, February 26, 2016. Jo Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, dedicated to her family. She was a professor and student of cooking. Jo Ann was a consummate homemaker and eternal optimist. She was a member of the Nottawaseppi Huron band of the Potawatomi.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by parents John and Eloise Shashagway and in-laws Lloyd and Evelyn Miles.

She is survived by her husband George, children: Lisa and Jim Lynch of Zeeland and Mike and Bridget Miles of Saugatuck, grandchildren: Daniel, Kelly, and Jay Lynch of Zeeland, sister: Diane VanderMolen and Jerry Jager of Saugatuck, brothers: Jon and Lynn Shashagway of Saugatuck and Jim and Jan Shashagway of Saugatuck.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, Holland.

Visiting hours will be from 4-8 pm Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Lakeshore Memorial Services.

A private burial will take place at Olive Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Humane Society due to her long time love of animals.
