

John Daly, 86 of Holland died December 2 at his home. Transplants from New York, he and his wife and best friend, Annette have been residents of Holland for more than 40 years. He served in the Army Air Force in the South Pacific in WW II and had a long career in the clock industry, first with Hamilton Clocks and later in happy association with Comiti of London. An Irish voice among the Dutch, John was a vivid raconteur, loved to travel both in the United States and Europe and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. He was a member of HASP, the Century Club and R.O.M.E.O.S.
He was the father of five: Christine Fischetti, Jack Daly, who died in 1972, Lindsay Olson, married to Craig Olson, Doreen Daly and Michael Daly, married to Julie Daly, and grandfather to Breton, Colin, Derek, Kelsey, Peter, Grace and Charles. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah Bohan, married to Michael Bohan.
A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of the Lake at 11:00AM Tuesday, December 9 with visitation before at 10:00 AM.
