

John James Johnson, age 91, passed away on September 29, 2026. Born on March 10, 1935, in Allegan, Michigan, John lived a long life marked by steadfast devotion to family, pride in service, and a deep appreciation for the work and pastimes that brought him purpose and joy. He resided in Holland, Michigan.
John was married for 70 years to Joyce A. Kerr, a partnership that stood as a lasting testament to commitment and love. Joyce passed in August 2022, and John carried her memory with him in the years that followed.
For 25 years, John worked as a Realtor, a profession he truly loved. He brought to his work a steady presence and an enduring respect for people and community. Beyond his career, he found happiness in dancing and in the quiet satisfaction of woodworking, especially in the careful craft of making wooden bowls.
John was very proud to have served in the Navy, serving from August 22, 1951, to February 4, 1955, and he held that chapter of his life with enduring honor.
John is survived by his children, Scott (Lori) Johnson and Pamela (C. Brian) Kleiber; sisters, Joyce Bushee, Nancy Brown, Joan Billings, and Sue Bushee; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents, James and Pearl Johnson; son, David Johnson; and sister, Sally Kiss.
A private Memorial Service will be held. No services are being planned at this time.
