Julianna was born April 28, 1989, in Recife, Brazil and adopted as an infant by John and Sheila Miner of Kalamazoo, MI.
Julianna attended grade schools in Kalamazoo, MI, Shreveport, LA, and Leominster, MA. She attended high school in Leominster, MA where she was an accomplished equestrian. She experienced great joy and peace riding her horse, Charisma.
Julianna (JJ) led a life filled with friends, family, and her cherished children. She showed great compassion towards others, especially those enduring struggles. In 2019, she battled large B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, stage 4. She endured weeks of chemotherapy to be declared “cancer-free” later that year. Julianna enjoyed life, music, make-up, dancing, cooking, horse riding, and being a mom.
On July 12, after a long struggle with drug addiction, Julianna passed away due to a drug overdose. If Narcan had been readily available, her life could have been saved. Not one more person needs to be lost to a drug overdose.
Julianna (JJ) is survived by her children Ariana Murphy (13), Cameron Murphy (8), her significant other Anthony Baxter, her parents, John and Sheila Miner, her sister, Ginger Feldman, and her family.
A memorial service will be held July 29, 2023, 10:00 AM at Calvary Reformed Church, 995 East 8th Street, Holland, MI. The family has requested donations be made in her memory to The Red Project, theredproject.org.
