Lavina Ruth Nienhuis

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She valued family time and enjoyed gardening, cooking and camping. Lavina was a long-time member of Beaverdam Reformed Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Arnie Nienhuis, brothers Art, Wallace, John, Harold, Don and Lee Grotenhuis; sisters Alyda Vander Hulst and Ange Raterink, and brother-in-law Dr. Herman D. Nienhuis. Lavina is survived by her children Sandra and Larry Lubbers of Hudsonville, Larry and Mary Nienhuis of Holland, Lee and Jane Nienhuis of Hudsonville, and by 7 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Gene and Barb Grotenhuis of Zeeland, sister Verna and Ken Quist of Bulvere, Texas, sisters-in-laws Nancy Nienhuis of Janesville, Wisconsin, Donna Grotenhuis of Holland, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Faith United Reformed Church, 8270 120th Ave., West Olive. Reverend Matthew Nuiver will be officiating.
