Lawrence R. Waugh, age 77, of Holland passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018. He was born August 18, 1941 in Seattle, Washington to Dalbert and Roberta Waugh. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1951. He married his wife of 48 years, Elaine Waugh on August 15, 1970 in Seattle. God blessed them with three amazing children, Marjorie, Edward, and Katherin. He also had the privilege to be a grandfather to seven wonderful grandchildren, Brandon, Austin, Christopher, Makayla, Raymond, Rebecca and Brittany. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother and playing with his bird dog Maggie. His hobbies were fishing and making flies for fly fishers. He was born again in 1985 and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Holland for 10 years. He would get involved in the church heavily, and had many friends. He would often be out tinkering in the garage or gardening or working on projects with his grandchildren. He also loved camping and being outdoors. He was a brother, a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a friend but most importantly a child of God. He is now in heaven, pain free and happier than ever. Although he will be missed, it’s a joyful and comforting thought to know we will see him again someday. You will be missed. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 501 E. 24th St. in Holland with Pastor Bart Spencer officiating. Burial will be on Tuesday at 11:30 am at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Please visit www.lakeshorememorial.com to leave a message or memory for the family.
