Lyman George Wakeman

Lyman George Wakeman, 69, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, January 13, 2017. He loved to golf, bowl, hunt, and fish and was a passionate fan of NASCAR. Lyman served in the US Air Force for nearly 8 years in intelligence and was captured then later released in a prisoner exchange. Lyman was a Christian man who dearly loved his family. He was loved and will be greatly missed!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rheta Belle North Wakeman and Ronald Wakeman, and brother Ronald Wakeman Jr. Lyman is survived by his wife of 28 years, Maggie Wakeman; children Tami (Dale) Newberry, Troy (D’Anna) Springer, Sean (Meredith) Wakeman, Jim (Marisa) Wakeman, Tyler (Kelsey) Wakeman. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate his life will be Monday, January 16, 11 a.m. at Harderwyk Ministries, 1627 W. Lakewood Blvd. in Holland. Visitation will be Sunday, January 15, 1-3 p.m. at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St. in Holland. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion.
