Margaret Winton Auwerda

Peg was born in Wheeling, WV and raised in Bedford, OH before moving to Holland in 1972. She was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church and The Elks Lodge 1315. Peg had been a Realtor with Westdale Better Homes and Gardens under her former name of VanderVeen before marrying Nick Auwerda in 2001. She owned Brightway Decorating and had worked for BASF Wyandotte in purchasing for many years.

Surviving are her husband, Nick Auwerda; children, Joyce Kaiser of Caledonia, Frank Jakubecz of Holland; step-children, Dan and Pat Auwerda, Gwen Auwerda, and Ken and Karen (Auwerda) Giovannini, all of Holland; grandchildren, Ian Kaiser of Caledonia, Nickolas Auwerda, Rachel (Auwerda) and David Thomas, Melissa (Auwerda) and Steven Steele, Ryan Auwerda, Kelley and Juli Giovannini; great-granddaughters Ava Jo and Kenleigh Jade Thomas; sisters, Paula (Catlett) and Sonny Seal of Chardon, OH and Linda (Catlett) Reda of Seven Hills, OH; brothers-in-law Hank and Marion Auwerda of Indian Head Park, IL and Rich and Dollie Auwerda of Bourbon, MO; cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2 at 11 a.m. at the Fellowship Reformed Church, 300 N. 168th Ave., Holland, with a reception immediately following at the church.
