
Mary Louise Campbell Bridget, 89, passed away peacefully on Feb. 18, 2015 at Resthaven Care Center in Holland, Michigan after a long battle with Lewy body dementia. A memorial service will be held on March 14, 4 p.m. at Fremont Wesleyan Church, 918 Garden Avenue in Fremont.
She was born Mary Louise Campbell on March 6, 1925, the daughter of Guy and Florence (Dixon) Campbell, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Mary graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1943. She married John H. Bridget on March 9, 1945 in Mt. Pleasant. After military service, they attended Marion College, (Indiana Wesleyan University) in Marion, Indiana. Following graduation, they assumed pastorates at Silver Lake, Indiana; Saginaw, Shelby, Fremont, and Whitehall, Michigan. During those years Mrs. Bridget co-authored a missions book and worked at Indiana Wesleyan University as secretary to the fine arts department before retiring to Florida. The couple lived in Florida for 23 years where they attended First United Methodist Church of Stuart. Mrs. Bridget was active in her church and community.
Mrs. Bridget is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Steven Brown; grandchildren, Chris (Erin) Brown, Sheree Brown, Sara Higgins, Conrad (Jenny) Brown, Lizetta Brown, and Moesha Brown; 8 great-grandchildren; one brother, Stuart; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Bridget; her parents; her brother, Robert; and her sister, Alice.
