Matt was born on August 22nd, 1979 in Holland, MI to Edwin and Valorie Holwerda. Matt graduated from Holland Christian High School and then attended GVSU. Matt was a loving, caring son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved sports, especially his beloved Michigan Wolverines football team. Matt would attend all of the Wolverines home games. He even drove all the way to Dallas, TX to watch them play.
Matt is survived by: his parents, Edwin and Valorie Holwerda; sister, Alissa (Mark) Cochran; nephews, Ethan and Caden Cochran; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Matt was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Tom and Marla Lindsay, and Klaas and Tena Holwerda.
A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday July 23rd, 2022 from 1-3 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St. Holland, MI 49424.
