I had the pleasure of being Millie’s Hairdresser for about 20 years. We always had wonderful conversations and she was so proud of all her family. Anytime you would ask her how she was she would always say”fine and dandy” . My week will not be the same with out her. Sure will miss her caring spirit and that beautiful smile!

Millie was a woman proud of many things in her life: hard work, flowers, keeping a clean house. But she had much pride in her Dutch heritage. There was a time when she lived just a few houses down from the corner where the tulip time parade went by. We had years of watching those parades with her. Her other big pride was in being a grsndma. She had authentic costumes made for Kelly & Matt and literally beamed showing them off to friends, neighbors and people just there for the festivities of tulip time. She valued education highly. In 2009 we went to Alabama to watch with Shannon as Matt received his Masters in business. I'm glad she was able to see and share that day. She wasn't one to sit still or very patient with waiting around and we almost lost her in the crowd. We had to run to catch up to her!
