April 11, 1950 – January 7, 2019
Roberto “Bob” Leal, age 68 of Holland, passed away on January 7, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in San Juan, Texas to Norberto and Filomena. After developing a friendship with his penpal Rebecca, he fell in love and moved to Michigan, where they would be married in December of 1977. Bob and Rebecca would go on to have two sons, Jonathon and Joe. Bob quickly became their biggest fans, attending all of their games, concerts, and spending time with them every chance he could get. When grandchildren arrived, Bob became a doting grandfather, cherishing every moment with his “Crazy Girls” and his “Golden Nugget.”
Bob worked as an X-Ray technician with XRI for 23 years until his retirement. In retirement, he enjoyed antique cars and attending car shows. Even though he was a resident of Michigan, Bob stayed loyal to his Texas roots and could be found rooting for his Dallas Cowboys on game day. Bob was also known for his famous “Uncle Bob’s Salsa,” a creation that was shared with his family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Ramon Leal, Reuben Leal, Juan Leal, Benita Leal-Garza, and Elva Leal Gonzalez.
Bob will be remembered lovingly by his wife of 41 years, Rebecca; Sons Jonathon Robert and Catherine Leal, Joe Emanuel and Taylor Leal; Grandchildren: Lucia Peace Leal, Mila Jane Leal, Jaxon Joseph Leal, Judah Rose Leal; Brothers and sisters: Ramiro Leal, Raul and Rita Leal, Norberto Jr. and Ricarda Leal, Jovita Leal Lopez, Eva Leal, Anita Leal Flores; Numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
