Our deepest sympathy to you Jan and the entire VanderKolk family
on the loss of your dearest husband and our fun-loving & loyal friend, much too quickly!

Bless him as he is in a far greater place - in the arms of God!

We first met Ron & Jan the summer year of 2004 at the Real Life Baptism event at a swimming pool baptism just a half mile from our home! Julie & Laura participated then! One great moment! We had many great cookouts with Ron & Jan since 2004, both in camping & on the home front!

As a family, we actually began camping with Ron & Jan at TQ Falls during the 2005 summer and went on camp at Young St Park, Ludington, Sleeping Bear Nat. Park, Muskegon St Park, Yankee Springs St Park, and Ft DeSoto Park, Fl thru the summer of 2015. That same summer, Ron's "ALS related" swallowing symptoms began! We had lots of good times for those 10 years plus: including the time we rafted down the Platte River late afternoon at Sleeping Bear when Mary & I were on a slow moving raft trip, that went a awry , the dark of evening much to fast from late afternoon & became quite chilly, only half way down stream!

However, we were close to a river access point, & were to able to hitch a station wagon ride from a very cordial & trusting family, in the twilight, to ride back to our car! When we got back to camp, we were thankful, that Ron & Jan had a hobo pie dinner & fire waiting for us! We put on much needed dry clothing and gave border collie, Jack, a big hug as well!
Ron loved to watch our once great frisbee retrieving dog!
