Stewart F. Wassink

Stewart Wassink, 86, of Hamilton passed away July 15. His wife Shirley of 59 years preceded him on death on July 6 and their son, Jeff preceded him in death in August of 2022. He is also preceded in death by his brothers and in laws, Dr Jerome Wassink, Carl & Ruthie Wassink, Kathy Wassink, Fred Lemley, and Lila Lemley.

He is survived by his daughter in law, Jennifer Wassink; grandsons, Corey Wassink and Lance Wassink; granddaughter, Sydney (David) Ricksen; siblings, Don (Lorna) Wassink, Sharon (Larry) Haverdink, Vern (Linda) Wassink, Hugh (Paula) Wassink, and Bob Wassink.

Stu worked for many years as a carpenter and passed his skill on to many boys who attended his 4-H woodworking classes in his workshop. He later worked for the Hamilton Farm Bureau in the lumber/carpet division. Stu was a long time member of Hamilton Reformed Church.

The Wassink family would like to thank American House (Bay Pointe) and Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care they gave to Stu. Also, they would like to thank Corewell Butterworth Hospice for the wonderful care given to Shirley while at Corewell and Freedom Inn.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.
