Susan Kay Sager, age 67, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on December 17th, surrounded by those she loved. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Susan lived a life marked by faith, humility, and steadfast love.
Above all else, Susan was a woman of God. Her deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ shaped every aspect of her life—how she loved her family, served others, and walked through both joy and hardship. She trusted fully in the Lord’s promises and found her peace and purpose in Him.
Susan built a meaningful career as a real estate agent, where she was known for her integrity, dedication, and genuine care for the people she served. She approached her work as a calling, always seeking to help others find not just houses, but homes.
Her faith community was central to her life. Susan was a devoted member of Central Wesleyan Church, where she faithfully sang in the church choir and found great joy in worship. She also served through Barnabas Ministries, where she lovingly mentored children in need, offering encouragement, guidance, and hope. Her life reflected Christ’s love in both word and action.
Susan had a rare gift: she was a friend to everyone she met. Whether a lifelong companion or a brief encounter, she made people feel welcome, seen, and valued. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression and turned strangers into friends wherever she went.
Susan shared 48 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Jim, and together they built a home rooted in faith, grace, and enduring love. She was a devoted mother to her children, Jackie (Doug) and Steve (Brittany), and a proud and loving grandmother to her grandchildren: Sydney, Landon, Harper, Eloise, and Isaac. Her grandchildren were the delight of her heart, and she poured into them with tenderness, wisdom, and joy.
Though our hearts grieve her absence, we rejoice in the hope and assurance that Susan is now fully restored and rejoicing in the presence of her Savior. She has finished her race and now rests in eternal peace, embraced by the Lord she served so faithfully.
Susan is survived by her husband Jim; her children Jackie (Doug) and Steve (Brittany); her beloved grandchildren Sydney, Landon, Harper, Eloise, and Isaac; her sister Carol; her brother Ted; along with many nieces and nephews who dearly loved her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the service immediately following, at Lakeshore Memorial, Holland, Michigan.
Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Susan’s life, her faith, and the love she so freely gave.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
