Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Beelen, son-in-law, Robert Roper, grandson, Mitchell Beelen, granddaughter, Sarah Beelen, sister, Julie Anderson and brother, Harve Aalderink.
She is survived by her son, Roger Beelen, daughters, Karen Dunn and Kathleen Roper, grandchildren, Andrew Beelen, Benjamin Roper (Margaret Livengood-Roper), Robert (Kristen) Roper, and great-grandchildren, Sabine Lestat, Charles Roper, Evelyn Roper, and Claire Roper, brothers, Dale Aalderink, Don Aalderink, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Thelma was a kind, generous, and independent person. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend to many. Her family, friends, and Christian faith were the central focus of her life.
She was a talented seamstress, quilter, and needle worker, and gave of her talents to many individuals and organizations throughout her life.
Thelma was a true inspiration to all who knew her and she will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held on December 13, 2022 at Christ Memorial Church. Visitation will be held at the church before the service from 11:00 AM to 12 noon. The service will be at 12 noon. A light lunch and fellowship will follow the service in the Gathering Place.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Appledorn North for the excellent care and friendship they provided for Thelma while she was there. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland.
