Born in Cambodia in 1943, Vay eventually came to Michigan with his wife and son as refugees through the sponsorship of Zion Lutheran Church. While in Holland, Vay and his family enjoyed many years together.
Vay enjoyed spending time with his family and friends over the years and always did what he could to make sure that his family was supported. He loved preserving memories by taking photos of all events and special moments. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lor Ley in June 2025.
He is survived by sons Voat (Chan) Chau, Meyva Chau, and Michael Chau; as well as grandchildren Tiffany Chau and Katelin Chau.
A visitation for Vay will be held on Saturday, July 12 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at Lakeshore Memorial Services – 11939 James St. Holland, MI 49424. Burial at Lakewood Cemetery will follow.
