Wayne enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, most notably hunting and fishing. He took many trips to Canada over the years where he enjoyed fishing and being in nature. He also liked spending time with friends and family and cherished special memories, like watching his grandson race cars or going out for breakfast each week with his friends, a tradition he enjoyed for many years.
A longtime member of Noordeloos CRC, Wayne had a generous heart and a giving spirit. He was always ready to help others when needed and enjoyed being able to lend a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Beth Ann Boerigter, sister Gloria Leestma, and sister-in-law Marlene Boerigter.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Lois; his children Brian Boerigter, Bruce (Robin) Boerigter; grandchildren Austin (Stevie-Lynn) Boerigter, Michael Boerigter; and great-grandson Matthew Boerigter. He is also survived by brothers Glenn (Mary) Boerigter, Jim Boerigter, and Roger (Carol) Boerigter.
A funeral service for Wayne will be held at Noordeloos CRC – 4055 112th Ave. Holland, MI 49424 on Monday, May 12 at 11 AM with visitation at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Holland or to Heritage Homes.
