

He was born in The Bronx, New York on October 4, 1926, son of Dominic and Mary (Nisi) Trapanese. Al moved to Florida in 1955 and was professionally known as an international contractor. As a member of the "greatest generation", he was a proud WWII combat veteran who served in the United States Navy. Al was awarded the American Theatre Medal, Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal with one star. He was honorably discharged on April 6, 1946.
Al was a proud member of the American Legion Post 92 and the VFW Post 1966. He was also a distinguished member of the Foot Lighters Club. His hobbies were many, but truly he enjoyed reciting poetry, singing, painting, playing piano, and telling captivating stories to invoke his audiences' laughter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra "Sandi" (Cassese) Trapanese, his siblings, Willie and Tessie, children, Richard (Tonya) Trapanese and Gina Trapanese, step children, Sheryl (Larry) Rabinowitz and John (Tricia) Chadwick, grandchildren, Steven, Ricky, David, Jason, Amanda, Emily and John. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alphonse Trapanese.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 21st from 2:00 ~ 3:00 P.M. at Fred Hunters Hollywood Memorial Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood with a Funeral Service beginning at 3:00 P.M. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Navy. Rabbi Loring Frank will officiate. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend
Al will be laid to rest with his mother at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
