Alite Alfancer Lyn was born on July 2, 1917 in Trelawny, Jamaica to parents Wilson Lyn and Ida Parson. She was the youngest of seven children: Eunice, Edwin, Alfred, Wilbert, Ivy and Daisy and she outlived them all. Alite was short in statue but very big in love and heart. She loved people and was always caring and kind. She was a beautiful lady and her beauty caught the eye of Hubert Moo Young whom she later married on July 23, 1941. This union produced seven sons: Howard, Andrew, Raymond, Paul, David, Wilbert & Michael. Hubert went home to be with the Lord on October 29, 1983, as well as her sons....Raymond, Paul and Michael.
Alite Moo Young was a dedicated and devout Christian lady. She was never ashamed to share the gospel and her faith wherever she went and with whomever she met. It did not matter if Alite was in a public or at a private event; it only took a matter of seconds upon meeting you, that she would begin to share her testimony. She taught Sunday school classes for most of her life both in Jamaica and here in Florida even upon till recently at Northwest Baptist Church. While living in Jamaica she was a member of the Maranatha Gospel Hall and one of the core group members who started the Chinese Missionary Church which originated at the Moravian Church. The Chinese Missionary Church later became known as Swallowfield Chapel.
Alite lived most of her adult life in Kingston, Jamaica raising her family also owning and operating various grocery stores with her husband. She went to California for a brief period working as a photographer. Even though Alite and Hubert had a large family they parented many nieces and nephews. The sounds of laughter and happy times could be heard coming from the many children that lived with Alite and her family at 16 Glenmore Road in Kingston, Jamaica.
Alite and Hubert re-located to Florida in 1977. She worked briefly as a Dietician at International hospital. After retirement she continued to babysit many of her grandchildren and other "adopted grandchildren." She leaves to mourn....
