Allen was born in Rye, New York and grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey with his Parents Irving and Lillian Mittenthal. Allen has two daughters: Michelle Mittenthal Mennel and Robin Mittenthal Vogel as well as grandsons Jack Mennel and Zachary Vogel. He is survived by his 3 siblings, Raymond Mittenthal, Carol Mittenthal Burney and Rose Mittenthal. He has many extended family members, and will be missed greatly by all.
Allen loved animals. He will be especially missed by his dog, Buddy. He enjoyed socializing at the dog park where he made many wonderful friends. He loved parties. He made friends easily and was loved by all who got to know him.
