

Alois Reimel was born on January 1, 1936 in Philadelphia to Rosina and Alois Reimel. The family moved to Willow Grove, Pennsylvania where he went to school at St. David’s School, North Catholic High School and graduated from Upper Moreland High School. Al served in the U.S. Army overseas in Germany where he reconnected with his German relatives. He worked for the Budd Company as a tool and die maker and retired after 42 years with many lifelong friendships. Al loved fixing and building things and was always willing to lend a hand on any project. He shared his mother’s passion for gardening and nature. He enjoyed raising butterflies and releasing them with his grandchildren. Al was a huge sports fan supporting the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers his entire life. Another passion was deep sea fishing and the ocean. Al was always ready for a party and could connect with people of all ages. He was extremely generous with his time and went out of his way to help anyone in need. Family and friends were of the utmost importance to Al. Al’s kind, fun, loving, generous personality will be missed every day.
Al is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan Reimel, his daughters, Kathleen Reimel Chiolo, Dawn Holey (Scott), grandchildren, Anthony and Michael Chiolo, and Lauren, Jonathan, Katelyn Holey. His brother, William Reimel, sister, Rosemarie Reimel Watson and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister, Elia Reimel Lambert.
There will be a Funeral Mass on September 12, 12:00 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 901 NE 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale. There will be a gathering after at the home of Dawn and Scott Holey, 1504 SW 4th Court, Ft. Lauderdale.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
