ALYSSA LYNN FERNANDEZ, loving Daughter, Sister, Granddaughter, Niece, Cousin, caring friend to so many, and incredible spirit was taken from us on June 15, 2022 in an auto accident. Alyssa was born on September 5th, 2001 and was just 20 years old.
Alyssa graduated from Western High School in Davie, Florida in 2020 and attended college in Central Florida. She always excelled in anything she attempted. A fearless and fierce sports competitor, she would fly down the steepest ski slopes and white waters with pure joy in her speed. She was not, in the least, intimidated by the larger boys in Karate school and could break boards with the best of them. She made many lifelong friends as a Brownie and Girl Scout and volunteered for many worthy causes. In High School she was a member of the Flag Football Team, Soccer Team and was a Water Girl/Assistant Trainer for the Varsity Football Team. While planning how to continue her education, she recently took a professional job as an Administrative Assistant with Cardone Enterprises in Aventura Florida.
Words cannot adequately describe the “ray of sunshine” that Alyssa generated when she entered a room that no one could ignore. She had a unique ability to provide insight into any worry or upset a family member or friend had; a true reflection of her genuine love and concern for all those she knew. Alyssa was always there to lend a hand, and an ear. Someone who loved openly and honestly, when she hugged you, you felt the warmth and you knew she meant it.
With an expertise beyond her years, Alyssa could handle any animal with her gentle loving nature. She had many pets and never encountered an animal that would not respond favorably to her direction and instruction.
As well as an incredible style and fashion sense, Alyssa had a passion for music and could sing every single word of every song that played, regardless of what genre or decade it was from.
She cherished her time at the beach and on the water. Alyssa would often get up early just to go to see the sunrise, feeling a spiritual connection with nature, the moon, the stars, and the ocean.
Alyssa is survived by her loving parents, Michael and Amy Fernandez, her brother, Kurtis Fernandez (Sherry Mitchum), her Paternal Grandparents, Bonnie and Art Fernandez, and Maternal Grandparents Marlene and Kent Crawford along with her aunts, Deanne Jones (Eric Jones), Sheri Hamilton (Robert Hamilton) her Uncle Douglas Crawford (Carolyn Crawford), beloved cousins, a multitude of extended family members, and numerous special friends. Alyssa lived in her childhood home in Davie, Florida with her family.
Although life without Alyssa will be difficult, we will always treasure the memories of every moment, every laugh we had with her.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 23rd at 11am at First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale, FL 401 SE 15th Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33301 and visitation and celebration of life will follow Thursday, June 23rd from 5pm to 9pm at Fred Hunter’s Davie 2401 S University Drive Davie, FL 33324.
