ALYSSUM ASHLEY BLOCK
May 14, 1982 – January 12, 2025
A year has passed since Alyssum left this world, and though the ache of her absence remains, time has softened grief into remembrance. What endures most clearly now is not the loss, but the extraordinary warmth of her presence—the joy she carried, the laughter she gave, and the love she wove so naturally into the lives around her.
Alyssum’s angelic face, radiant smile, and infectious laugh brightened every room she entered. She moved through life with a mischievous sparkle, a quick wit, and a generosity of spirit that made people feel instantly seen and at ease. As a mother, daughter, and friend, she loved fiercely and playfully, offering both deep devotion and lightness in equal measure.
She was adventurous and endlessly curious, visually attuned to beauty, and drawn to possibility. Whether in conversation, creation, or collaboration, Alyssum brought intention and heart to everything she touched, who possessed the rare ability to balance grace with grit, imagination with discipline, and humor with resolve.
Those who knew her remember not only what she accomplished, but how she made them feel—encouraged, understood, inspired. Her life was defined by connection, creativity, and care, and her absence is felt profoundly by all who loved her.
Alyssum’s legacy lives on in her child, in her family, in her friendships, and in the countless moments she shaped with her light. She is missed beyond measure, remembered with love, and carried forward in the stories, laughter, and work she leaves behind.
Alyssum is survived by her husband Dustin Bleu Block and daughter Pierson Irene Block, mother Jennifer White Kuri, father Stephen Hugh Gluck, Stepmother Seon Joo Yang, siblings Lou Lou & Owen Gluck, Stepfather John Anthony Kuri and siblings Janiene, John, Jason & Jay Kuri.
