

Parsons, Amanda Georgene, of Pembroke Pines, FL was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt was called to heaven and peacefully passed away on January 7th at the age of 81. She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Munson (husband, Gordon), Judy Parsons, Cynthia Forem (husband, Jeffrey); one son, Clifton C. Parsons (wife, Sophie); six grandchildren, Tammy Phillips-Thomson, Melissa Munson, Kimberly Munson-Bulaskas (husband, Sean), Daniel Munson, Amanda and Amelia Forem; two great-grandchildren, Sallie and Nicholas Thomson; three step grandchildren, Edward Hanson and Denise Acevedo (husband, Gary), Robbie Hanson; one step great-grandson, Eddie Acevedo; one brother, Max Earney; numerous nieces and nephews and life long friends whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifton Giles Parsons and by one daughter, Sallie Phillips. She was born in Bessemer City, NC and moved to Hallandale in 1934. She was very proud that as a young girl, she attended Sunday School at Hallandale Union Congressional Church with perfect attendance for 13 years. She attended Ojus Elementary and South Broward High where she was a cheerleader and graduated in 1948. She married her high school sweetheart; the quarterback on the football team and President of the Class of 1946. They were married in 1949 and had 58 years of marriage. She was a wonderful stay at home mother and briefly worked at Winn Dixie as a cashier. She will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her. Her loving and kind spirit will live on and she will never be forgotten. Visitation Thursday, January 13th from 5:30-9pm with a service at 7pm. Funeral services Friday, January 14th, 11am at Fred Hunters Hollywood Memorial Gardens Home, 6301 Taft St.
