Angela Fields was born in Bedford, Pennsylvania to Catherine (Simmons) Calhoun and Palmer Calhoun on June 5th, 1955. She grew up with a great love for music and learned to play the organ beginning at the age of five years old. In order to reach the pedals, her parents bought extenders to allow her to play. Her lifelong calling as a Church Organist began at the young age of twelve, where she found passion in praising the lord through song. Her musical journey continued by teaching piano and organ at the age of fifteen with her teacher, Gladys. She was a classically trained pianist who studied at Duquesne University before moving on to work at St. Anthony de Padua in the West Village of New York City. She made her last move to South Florida in 1986 and began her 30+ year tenure as Music Teacher, Church Organist, and eventually Music Director at St. Anthony’s Church in Fort Lauderdale. Her final place of worship was as Musical Director of St. David’s Church in Davie, FL. She was loved and cherished by her family, friends, co-workers and students.
