

AnneMarie Ioppolo, 57, of Sunrise, FL (formerly of Denver, CO, Pembroke Pines, FL, and Levittown, NY) passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at her home surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
AnneMarie was born August, 15, 1958 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of Giacomo and Gioconda Ioppolo.
AnneMarie graduated from Cooper City High School in 1977. She graduated with Honors from Florida Atlantic University in 1982, with a degree in Education. As an educator, AnneMarie engaged and inspired her students, as well as her colleagues. She was an exceptional and innovative teacher. AnneMarie always gave 110% of herself into the education of her students. This was never more evident than when her students at Hinkely High School nominated her "Teacher of the Year", an honor she would always cherish. Also during her tenure as a Spanish Teacher at Hinkley High School, her students scored in the top 10% of the world wide International Baccalaureate Program. Throughout AnneMarie's 24 year teaching career, she taught English and Spanish to students in Broward County, Florida and in Aurora, Colorado. Her passion for teaching was evident to all. Just as her love for teaching, AnneMarie's love for her family could not be measured. She leaves this world a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
AnneMarie was preceded in death by her father, Giacomo Ioppolo. She is survived by her mother, Gioconda Ioppolo; brother, James Ioppolo; sisters, Elizabeth Todd and Margaret Jaccoma; brothers-in-law, Gerald T. Todd and Michael Z. Jaccoma; nephews, Travis Todd, Chase Todd, Michael G. Jaccoma and Matteo Jaccoma; aunts, Gloria Prudente and Norma Pirrotti; uncle, Pasquale Prudente.
The family will receive friends on Friday August 12, 2016 at Fred Hunter's University Drive Home 2401 South University Drive Davie, Florida 33324 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Service will be held Saturday August 13, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church 1301 SW 136 Avenue Davie, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of AnneMarie Ioppolo to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
