Antonietta Failla

Antonietta Borgiorno Failla, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 17th, 2014. Antonietta was born in the beautiful fishing village of Castlellamare Del Golfo, Italy on November 18th, 1946. She was predeceased by her parents, Leonardo and Felicia Borgiorno and survived by her (2)brothers and (4) sisters, with whom she was extremely close: Anna Ottaviani, Andrea Borgiorno, Giacomo Borgiorno, Rosetta Fulda, Italia Albano, Angela Libio and her sixteen nieces and nephews. She moved from Italy to Brooklyn, New York in 1958 and married her teenage sweetheart Michael Failla in 1966, with whom she remained best of friends. Antonietta settled in Sunrise, Florida in 1975 where she continued her 18 year career with American Express. She was a devoted mother to her two beautiful daughters, Susan Failla Licari (Jerry Licari) and Phyllis Failla (Jerri). In addition, she was blessed with two grandchildren, Emily (13) and Michael (9). For the past 10 years Antonietta and her companion, Frank Endro lived in Davie Florida to be closer to her adored grandchildren. Antonietta will forever be missed and may she rest in peace. Viewing will be held Wednesday, May 21st from 5pm to 9pm at Fred Hunters, Davie, Florida. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church, Plantation, Florida with burial service to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Fort Lauderdale.
