Arnold Sidney Chaples

Arnold Chaples, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and adored great-grandfather, passed away peacefully early Friday (4/26) morning in Davie, Florida. He was 85 years old and would have celebrated his 86th birthday in July.

Arnold was born and raised in Massachusetts, and settled in Davie over 50 years ago, where he built a life centered around family, faith, and hard work. He was the beloved husband of Irene Chaples for 60 years, who preceded him in death, and together they created a legacy of love and dedication to their family.

Arnold leaves behind a profound impact on those who knew him. He is survived by his four children: Doreen McGunagle and her husband Bruce Mackintosh of Lake Worth Beach, FL; Sheryl Hoover of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Daniel Chaples and his partner Cindy Titzmann of Davie, FL; and Linda Wheeler of Sunrise, FL. Arnold was not only a father but also a mentor and source of strength for his children, always there to support and guide them through life's journey.

Arnold's love extended to his grandchildren: David, Christine, Daniel, Sarah, and Brittany, who brought immense joy into his life. He was a proud great-grandfather to Kylie, Bella, Toni, Layla, and Ava.

A man of integrity and compassion, Arnold will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family and his faith. He worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones and instilled in them the values of hard work, kindness, and perseverance.

Arnold's presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. As his family and friends mourn his passing, they take solace in the memories they shared and the profound impact he had on their lives.

In honoring Arnold's memory, his family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Trustbridge Hospice, Mystic Jungle Educational Facility.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday (5/2) at Fred Hunter Funeral Home on Taft Street.  A celebration of Arnold's life will be held privately by his family.
