Arthur Brian Christopher Deane

We invite you to celebrate the life of Dr. Arthur Brian Christopher Deane, lovingly known as Chris. He was born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on February 4, 1960, to Joyce Field and the late Patterson Deane. He lived an adventurous life throughout the Caribbean, onward to Grenada, Jamaica, Antigua, and The Bahamas. He inevitably found his way to the States where he attended Tuskegee University for his undergraduate degree and the School of Veterinarian Medicine for his DVM. After meeting the love of his life, Majella, in Trinidad for 1987 Carnival, the two eventually married in 1989 and first lived in Nassau, Bahamas, and then moved to South Florida in 1994. Chris worked vigorously and passionately as a veterinarian in South Florida and eventually purchased his practice, Weston Animal Hospital, in 1999. There he devotedly served his patients and their owners until December 2019.He is survived by his three beautiful children: Armani Galeed, Toni Deane, and Alexi Deane; wife: Majella Deane; siblings: Gregory Deane, Norman Deane, and Charlotte Fry; mother: Joyce Deane; fur-babies: Bali, Stanli & Andi, and grand-fur-baby: Auri.Chris loved and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed watching sports and playing golf. He loved his toys, small and big alike. His love for the ocean was unending, with multiple beach vacations that included boating and fishing. He was Caribbean to the core, and Trini to the Bone, and could grill up a storm in his beautiful backyard with his numerous and nurtured fruit trees. He adored his family more than anything—often boasting about, not only their achievements, but also their generous hearts (a trait they attest to him). He was immensely charming, able to engage friends and even random strangers in fascinating conversations. He always knew how to make someone feel included. Chris was, and always will be, larger than life, and he will be greatly missed.A service is scheduled for Chris on Saturday, June 5, at 1pm, at Plantation United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Marta Burke. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Chris's life.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in-person at the service or online through the church’s website, https://www.plantationumc.org/give.
