Ashton K. McDowell, 71, of Miramar passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2014, while visiting in St. Thomas. Born April 4, 1943, in Trinidad, Ashton has lived in the United States since 1968. He first settled in New York where he met and married Ann Dessources.
Ashton retired in 2005 after over 17 years with American Airlines. They moved to Miramar, Florida a short time later.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Ann; children, Brian, Gail, Afinju, Hassar, Hannif, Christopher and Ashley; 3 grandchildren; 2 brothers; 4 sisters; nieces; nephews; extended family and friends.
