Barbara was born in Elba, Alabama to Mary Allen Ham and Andrew Jackson Ham on January 15, 1948.
She grew up in Hollywood, Florida. She married Carter Ray Gibson on July 13, 1974, in Broward County, Florida. She graduated with a BS in Education from Florida State University. She worked as an elementary school teacher for Broward County Schools for over three decades at Oakridge Elementary, where she proudly received Teacher of the Year in 1997.
Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, and siblings Hendrix Folmar Ham and Margaret Ham Bradbury.
Barbara is survived by her son Raymond Gibson, her two sisters, many nieces and nephews, and great and great great nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 5pm Friday April 19, 2024, at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home at 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida.
