Barrington Lloyd Scott (Scottie) 76 of Poinciana, (Polk Co.) Florida passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, Florida, formerly of Miramar, Florida and New Jersey. A South Florida resident for 30 years retiring from Broward County School Board in Maintenance.
Scottie was born June 12, 1940 in Jamaica West Indies to Anita Scott. He is survived by his wife Emma Aleitha (Fullerton) Scott of Poinciana, Florida; 3 children Joan Merlener Scott and her husband Colin Spence of Orange, New Jersey, John Jacinto Scott of Miramar, Florida and Bernard Lloyd Scott of Jacksonville, Florida; 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Lynval Scott, daughter Racquel Tyrell and brother Bobby Scott.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 2:00-4:00pm at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024,with a funeral service to follow at 3:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the NAACP.
